RLE is First to Introduce Distance Read Leak Detection with Ethernet Capabilities
The SeaHawk LD2000 pinpoints leaks, sends direct notification, and has a web interface
FORT COLLINS, CO | 19 Mar 2008 - RLE Technologies today announced its release of the SeaHawk LD2000, the only web-enabled, distance read leak detection system on the market. The LD2000 pinpoints the location of any conductive fluid on up to 2,000 feet of RLE patented SeaHawk Leak Detection Cable (SC). The LD2000 is currently available for delivery.
The SeaHawk LD2000 is designed to work in conjunction with SC cable. When a conductive fluid comes in contact with SC cable or SeaHawk zone spot detectors (SD-Z), the system pinpoints the location of the leak. Within seconds, the LED flashes in alarm and the LED display provides a distance measurement so that the location of the leak can be determined.
Unlike any leak detection system on the market, the LD2000 system includes features such as: direct alarm notification via email or SMS to cellular devices, and a web interface that allows users to view status and modify system configurations. Notably, the LD2000 allows for simple integration with existing Building Management Systems (BMS) via Modbus and BACnet, and/or Network Management Systems (NMS) via SNMP.
The LD2000 system will be showcased in April at the Data Center World 2008 Expo in Las Vegas. "This trade show is attended by data center professionals who want to keep themselves abreast of emerging technologies," said Mike Orlich, President of RLE Technologies. "Smart business people like these realize they must mitigate risks to infrastructure, and protect critical equipment with smart technologies." Distance read systems are advantageous for protecting equipment in large areas, and particularly in cases where the sensing cable is not visible, such as raised-floor areas. "The SeaHawk LD2000 not only offers this advantage, it is packed with innovative features," explained Orlich. "Our partners are very enthusiastic about this product."
RLE offers facilities a wide range of products that protect critical infrastructure from water leaks and other environmental factors.
